LONDON (Reuters) -London Underground workers will stage rolling strikes for seven days next month in a dispute over pay and working conditions, railway trade union RMT said on Thursday.

Details of the Industrial Action

The strikes, starting from September 5, will see different grades of staff taking industrial action at differing times, and is part of a dispute over pay, fatigue management, shift patterns and a reduction in the working week, the RMT said.

Union's Stance on Working Conditions

In a separate dispute, workers on the Docklands Light Railway, which connects the financial centres of Canary Wharf and the City of London, will also be striking in the week beginning September 7, the union added.

"Our members ... are not after a King's ransom, but fatigue and extreme shift rotations are serious issues impacting on our members health and wellbeing," RMT General Secretary Eddie Dempsey said.

Dempsey said the union would continue to engage with London Underground to reach a negotiated settlement.
