MADRID (Reuters) - Spain's Santander on Tuesday said its board had approved a total cash dividend of 0.21 euros ($0.2207) per share against 2024 results, a 19% rise from a year ago.
This followed the board's proposal of a final cash dividend for 2024 of 0.11 euros for approval at its shareholders meeting on April 4 that will be paid on May 2.
The total shareholder remuneration for the 2024 results will be approximately 6.3 billion euros, around 50% of its attributable profit for 2024, divided equally between cash dividends and share buybacks.
Earlier this month, Santander announced up to 10 billion euros in buybacks from 2025 and 2026 earnings and excess capital, in addition to its standard cash dividend distribution.
