(Reuters) - Serco Group said on Thursday it has been selected by the UK Ministry of Defence for a 1 billion pound ($1.24 billion) contract to provide recruitment services for the Royal Navy, the British Army, the Royal Air Force and Strategic Command.

The initial term of the contract is for seven years, outsourcer Serco said, adding that the contract can be worth up to 1.5 billion pounds should the Ministry of Defence elect to exercise three one-year extension options.
