Lindsey Oil Refinery in Britain Resumes Fuel Deliveries Amid Insolvency

LONDON (Reuters) -Britain's insolvent Lindsey oil refinery has resumed fuel deliveries, a spokesperson for the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) told Reuters on Tuesday, after a deal to continue short-term crude supply was reached last week.

"Deliveries from the Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery have resumed. The Official Receiver is ensuring continued safe operations at the site, while options, including a potential sale, are explored," the spokesperson said.

The refinery was placed into the hands of an official receiver last week after owner Prax crashed into insolvency.

The refinery secured some crude supplies to keep running in the short term late last week, according to DESNZ, but a source close to the matter said the deal was limited and consultancy Wood Mac said the refinery could close in three weeks, given current stock levels.

Consultancy FTI, special managers appointed by official receiver, declined to comment.
