David Pitts

Pitts is well known throughout the Development Sector, having worked as a Senior Relationship Banker in Africa for the past 20 years. Joining from Ecobank, Pitts brings a wealth of experience – including his work with international donors, development finance institutions (DFIs), the United Nations and major NGOs – as well as a passion for African development, evidenced by his lead roles in multiple capacity-building partnerships with the likes of the Global Fund. Also invaluable is Pitts’ comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the payment, foreign exchange and service needs of the sector.

“I am delighted to be joining Crown Agents Bank at such an exciting time. Under new ownership and with several recent senior management appointments, this is a UK bank that has the ability to make a real difference in developing markets, where trusted financial services partners and intermediaries are increasingly in short supply,” says Pitts. “The bank has strong local relationships in developing countries, meaning we are able to offer liquidity and competitive foreign exchange prices in traditionally illiquid markets. This allows our clients to overcome payment barriers and, importantly, to navigate risk effectively.”

Crown Agents Bank’sChief Commercial Officer, Steven Marshall adds: “I am very pleased to welcome David to the team. His reputation for integrity, experience working with IDOs and local partners, and proven excellence in the promotion of financial inclusion will only strengthen our offering. ”
