German financial watchdog probes Gerresheimer amid possible accounting violations
Overview of BaFin's Investigation into Gerresheimer
Initiation of Audit
March 10 (Reuters) - Germany's financial watchdog BaFin has initiated an audit of Gerresheimer's consolidated interim financial statements dated from December 1, 2024 to May 31, 2025, it said in a statement on Tuesday.
Evidence of Accounting Violations
"The German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority has concrete evidence that Gerresheimer AG has violated accounting regulations," BaFin said in a statement.
Expansion of Audits
BaFin said it had expanded ad hoc audits of the consolidated financial statements of Gerresheimer as of November 30, 2024, citing concrete indications that the company had violated further accounting regulations.
Background of the Investigation
The German financial watchdog started investigating the packaging and medical equipment maker in September, as the company may have recognized revenue for some contracts with customers before the revenue was actually realised.
