Temporary agreement ahead of works council election
Feb 26 (Reuters) - Tesla and German union IG Metall have agreed for now to set aside their dispute over a labour meeting at the carmaker's plant outside Berlin this month, the union said on Thursday.
Criminal complaint and allegation of secret recording
Tesla had filed a criminal complaint against a member of the union it accused of secretly recording the meeting on February 10. IG Metall described the allegation as a "calculated lie".
Comments paused until vote concludes
IG Metall said the two sides have agreed not to repeat certain comments about the incident until the end of the plant's works council election next Wednesday.
Tesla response following court hearing
Tesla said in a statement that the result of the court hearing showed IG Metall was not above the law.
Labour court proceedings in Frankfurt (Oder)
IG Metall said the agreement was reached in a labour court in the eastern city of Frankfurt (Oder) on Thursday.
Union focus shifts to working conditions
"Now, just a few days before the works council election, we can concentrate fully on the issues (over working conditions) (...) there's a lot to do," said local IG Metall leader Jan Otto.
