ING Wholesale Banking has appointed Deborah Perkins as Global Head of Food & Agribusiness within its Industry Lending business.

Perkins is responsible for directing and developing the Food & Agribusiness growth initiative globally. It is a newly-created role and includes further development of the franchise in Europe and the Americas, as well as expansion in Asia.

Perkins has almost 30 years of experience in banking for food and agribusiness companies around the world. Before joining ING, she was Managing Director and Head of Rabobank’s Dallas Corporate Banking Office, where she also served as the Regional Sector Head of Dairy for North America. Prior to that, Perkins spent nine years leading Rabobank’s Food & Agribusiness Research teams in the Americas and Australia and New Zealand.

Commenting on her appointment, Deborah said: “There is significant change taking place in the Food and Agribusiness sector today. Changing consumer preferences and an increased focus on sustainability and innovation is providing ample opportunities for ING to grow in this sector around the world; I’ve joined the bank at a pivotal and exciting time for the business.

ING has a strong track record in Food and Agribusiness and the Wholesale Bank’s cross-border and cross-functional expertise has helped grow the business area substantially in past years.
