International payments company OFX today announced the appointment of Sarah Webb as President, UK and Europe.

Sarah joins OFX from Barclays, where she held the role of Managing Director, Global Payments Networks, Barclaycard and led a team responsible for managing the commercial relationships with the card payment networks across Barclays’ credit and debit portfolios globally, as well as leading the Barclaycard PSD2 programme.

Previously Sarah was Managing Director in the Barclaycard Corporate Payments business, heading up the account management and product teams, where she played a leading role in the turnaround and launch of a new customer approach that drove double-digit growth over three years.

Before joining Barclays, Sarah was Head of Global Product Management, Commercial Card, at American Express and led a global team responsible for the end-to-end product management of the corporate payments T&E product set.

In her new role at OFX, Sarah will be responsible for leading the London office and strategically growing OFX’s footprint in the UK and Europe.

Europe is OFX’s second-largest market, and was the company’s first presence outside Australia. It remains a focus for future growth, building on the large base of European customers that already use OFX to move money securely and easily in 55 currencies. Globally, the company has handled more than $125bn in international transfers to date.

Skander Malcolm, CEO and Managing Director of OFX, said Sarah brought deep industry expertise across consumer and corporate payments to the business, and would be an invaluable addition to the global executive team.

“Sarah is a strong, dynamic leader, with more than 20 years’ experience in payments and a track record of developing client relationships, product initiatives and building new business. She joins OFX at a time when we are focused on further innovation in production development and is the ideal person to develop and execute our UK and European strategy.”

Sarah will take up her role at OFX in early December.
