O’Melveny is representing OMERS Infrastructure, the infrastructure investment manager of the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) in the sale of Airports Worldwide, a portfolio company of OMERS, to Vinci Airports, a subsidiary of Vinci Group, a French public company.  Airports Worldwide owns or manages 12 airports in the U.S., Costa Rica, Northern Ireland and Sweden under long term management contracts or concession agreements, including Orlando Sanford International Airport, Hollywood Burbank Airport, Ontario Airport, Atlantic City International Airport, Raleigh Durham International Airport, Macon Airport, Middle Georgia Regional Airport, Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Belfast International Airport, Stockholm Skavsta Airport, Juan Santamaria International Airport (San Jose, Costa Rica) and Daniel OduberQuiros International Airport (Liberia, Costa Rica). O’Melveny also represented OMERS in the acquisition of Airports Worldwide in September 2013.

The Los Angeles-based O’Melveny deal team is led by partner Mark Easton (Los Angeles), and includes counsel Reid Jason and associates Adam Ackerman and Amber Cruz.  Washington,  DC partners Courtney Dyer and Ted Kassinger and counsel David Ribner and associate Mary Pat Dwyer are advising on various regulatory matters.

OMERS Infrastructure invests in transportation, energy and government-regulated services on behalf of OMERS, one of Canada’s largest defined benefit pension plans with net assets of more than C$95 billion. Vinci Airports is one of the largest airport operators in the world. With the acquisition of Airports Worldwide, Vinci Airports will increase the number of airports in its portfolio to 45, and increase the number of passengers served annually to more than 182 million.
