Praxity – the world’s largest Alliance of independent accountancy   firms – has been named the Association of the Year at the 2014 International Accounting Bulletin Awards.

Held at Holborn Bars, London, on 16 September, Praxity was also shortlisted in the Rising Star Association category – an Award it won last year.

The judges praised ‘Praxity’s strong growth during 2013, its spread of new members and a clear indication its growth is sustainable’. They concluded ‘With an annual revenue of $4.1bn, over 33,496 staff and an enhanced delivery of internal services to member firms and external services to clients, Praxity demonstrated strong performance and achievements in the past year’.

Member firms Plante Moran, Moss Adams, Moores Rowland Indonesia and Mazars were shortlisted in the Employer of Year, Sustainable Firm of the Year and Social Media Networking Champion of the Year categories.

Graeme Gordon, Praxity Executive Director, comments: “Having previously been recognised as a Rising Star Association and now Association of the Year, it is clear we are going from strength to strength.  This Award confirms our belief that we, as an Alliance and our member firms in 97 countries are global leaders, delivering an unrivalled service to all our stakeholders.”

The judging panel comprised; Jane Howard, Head of Accounting & Actuarial Liability at Wragge & Co, Sue Almond, Head of External Affairs at the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA),  Ian Ball, Chairman of Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) and Ana Gyorkos, IAB Editor.
