Potential Stake Sale and Market Implications
Background on the Prosus and Delivery Hero Relationship
March 27 (Reuters) - Dutch technology investor Prosus is considering selling a roughly 10% stake in Germany's Delivery Hero, in which it is the largest shareholder, to Hong Kong-based Aspex Management, Bloomberg News reported on Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.
Details of the Preliminary Discussions
Preliminary discussions have already taken place, the report said. Aspex is currently the food delivery company's second-largest shareholder with a 9.2% stake. A transaction could lift that to roughly 19%, positioning Aspex to overtake Prosus.
Current Shareholding Structure
Prosus currently owns around 26.8% of Frankfurt-listed Delivery Hero.
Responses from Involved Parties
Delivery Hero, Prosus and Aspex all declined Reuters requests for comment.
Recent Developments and Strategic Moves
Earlier this week, Aspex urged Delivery Hero's supervisory board to oust the CEO and his top management team, escalating the investor's push for a strategic overhaul.
