MADRID, Feb 25 (Reuters) - Santander's executive chair Ana Botin was paid 18.54 million euros ($21.88 million) in 2025, up 34.6% from 13.77 million euros in 2024, the lender said in its annual report on Wednesday.

The rise in Botin's compensation comes after the euro zone's biggest lender in terms of market value reported a record 14.1 billion euros net profit in 2025.

On Wednesday, it hiked its 2028 profits target to above 20 billion euros.

Botin's remuneration includes 8.311 million euros in shares or financial instruments, nearly half of which stemmed from a 126% surge in the bank's stock last year.
