MADRID, Feb 25 (Reuters) - Santander's executive chair Ana Botin was paid 18.54 million euros ($21.88 million) in 2025, up 34.6% from 13.77 million euros in 2024, the lender said in its annual report on Wednesday.
Record 2025 Profit
The rise in Botin's compensation comes after the euro zone's biggest lender in terms of market value reported a record 14.1 billion euros net profit in 2025.
2028 Profit Target Raised
On Wednesday, it hiked its 2028 profits target to above 20 billion euros.
Equity Awards and Stock Impact
Botin's remuneration includes 8.311 million euros in shares or financial instruments, nearly half of which stemmed from a 126% surge in the bank's stock last year.
Cash Bonus and Salary Breakdown
Her pay also includes a bonus in cash of 4.264 million euros, 2.533 million euros in other remuneration, as well as 3.435 million euros related to her salary.
