FRANKFURT (Reuters) – Siemens Gamesa, the wind division of Siemens Energy, has won a turbine order worth more than 1 billion pounds ($1.3 billion) to supply the East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm of Iberdrola’s ScottishPower, the companies said.
Siemens Gamesa will supply 64 of its flagship SG 14-236 DD offshore wind turbines to the project located 33 km off the Suffolk coast in the southern North Sea , they.
The turbine’s blades will be made at Siemens Gamesa’s factory in Hull.
Once completed, East Anglia TWO, which is worth a total 4 billion pounds, will have capacity of 960 megawatts (MW), enough to power nearly one million homes.
