Skrill Group announced the appointment of Neil Ward as Group Chief Product and Marketing Officer (CPMO).  This new position has been created in order to deliver insight-driven customer value via an aligned product and marketing strategy.  Neil will be based at Skrill Group’s global headquarters in London.

Ward joins Skrill Group from Skype, where he held the position of Senior Vice President and General Manager of Global Business Operations, overseeing the delivery of user experience and operational delivery in more than 140 countries.  Prior to joining Skype, Neil was General Manager of Business to Business Services at BT Group plc and he previously worked in a range of senior sales, marketing and operations positions with organisations including Affinity Cards, Virgin Media, Havas Advertising and Adidas.

Siegfried Heimgaertner, Chief Executive Officer, Skrill Group, says, “Neil Ward’s appointment marks a significant step change for Skrill Group, bringing together the marketing and product functions across all Group Companies.  His international expertise and deep insight across both business and consumer segments will enable us to better understand and meet customer needs in the rapidly evolving payments industry, dovetailing with our track record of innovating to help our customers pay and get paid globally.”

Neil Ward comments, “Looking across the payments space, Skrill Group stands out as having both the opportunity and ability to enable merchants and consumers alike to benefit from the continued expansion of eCommerce. The chance to deliver a product and marketing strategy that makes the most of this perfect storm is truly exciting. I look forward to being a member of Skrill Group’s executive management team and ensuring innovation continues to be something that is driven throughout the company.
