MOSCOW (Reuters) -Rosneft-controlled Novokuibyshevsk oil refinery in Russia's Volga region halted primary crude processing on Sunday following a drone attack, the second in a month, two industry sources told Reuters on Monday.

Refinery Production Statistics

The governor of the Samara region, Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, said on social media on Sunday that air defences had been in action against Ukrainian drones and that the local airport and mobile internet services had been temporarily suspended.

Future Production Outlook

According to the sources, the refinery halted crude distillation unit, CDU-11, with a capacity of 18,900 metric tons per day, or around 138,540 barrels per day.

They also said another primary unit, CDU-9, had already been shut by Sunday.

Primary oil processing at the refinery was previously suspended after drones attacked the plant last month.

The sources said the plant may resume production in early November.

Last year, the refinery processed 5.74 million tons of crude oil, produced 1.10 million tons of motor gasoline, 1.64 million tons of diesel and 1.27 million tons of fuel oil, according to industry sources.
