NEW YORK (Reuters) -Airline Finnair said on Wednesday the company is looking to source a first wave of narrowbody aircraft and is considering an order of up to 30 of the jets.

"One could argue that we would need 15, but of course we need to also do a ... wider or extrapolated analysis that should it be 25 or 30, but that is still on the drawing table," CEO Turkka Kuusisto told reporters.

The Finnish carrier has 80 planes in its fleet, including 15 older jets they are looking to replace. "Therefore, that's the most urgent need," said Kuusisto.

He said he does not know what aircraft will be selected, but the company will decide toward the end of the year.
