April 30 (Reuters) - German engines maker MTU Aero Engines posted a first-quarter operating profit above expectations on Thursday, showing no visible impact from the ongoing war in Iran in the reported period.
The company reported first-quarter adjusted earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) of 320 million euros ($373.15 million), compared with 300 million euros in the same quarter of 2025.
Analyst Expectations and Market Reaction
A company-provided analyst consensus expected a quarterly operating profit of 310 million euros on average.
Revenue Growth Driven by Military Business
The Munich-based firm also reported a slight increase in quarterly adjusted revenue, boosted by a strong military business.

MTU has been looking to build up its defence business, as higher military spending in Europe lifts demand for engines and related technologies, while reducing reliance on the commercial aviation cycle over the longer term.
