BUCHAREST, March 13 (Reuters) - Romania scrambled fighter jets on Friday to monitor drones possibly breaching its national airspace, the defence ministry said, adding that it was possible that drone fragments fell on Romanian territory near border with Ukraine.
Defence Ministry Statement
"The defence ministry radar systems detected, at around 1000 a.m., aerial targets north of Tulcea County," it said in a statement. "The air defence systems were put on alert, and two F-16 aircraft from the 86th Air Base in Borcea took off to survey and monitor the airspace."
